How We Met
From Femi's desk: A mutual friend tried to connect us via a group call on Juwon's birthday, but neither of us picked up — and this was on purpose. Funny, considering where we are now. It wasn't until a day after Juwon's birthday that I finally sent a text, and that was the start of everything. That one text has now led us to this beautiful chapter, filled with so many memories and laughter.
From Juwon's desk: A mutual friend had called me on my birthday and, as we were talking, she casually mentioned Femi and said she needed to connect us together. She mentioned that she would give him a call and add me to it. I honestly wasn't interested in the call; my battery died after my call with our mutual friend, and I refused to charge my phone. Femi sent a text the next night, and we just kept chatting. We kind of just clicked, and here we are now. I guess the joke is on me, haha.
2021
First Date / Early Days
In September, Femi embarked on a five-hour drive to Regina and asked Juwon to be his girlfriend the same day he arrived — he wasted no time; he knew what he wanted. From there, it was dinners dressed up for each other, axe throwing, a hot-air balloon ride, travels, and indoor skydiving (just to name a few). We both love adventures — proof that we've never done ‘ordinary’ well. Our proper first date was in Calgary in December 2021. We had both travelled into the city from different places, to a city we both now live in and call home.

The Proposal
A trip to the UK in September to get approval from Juwon's dad sealed the deal. By October, she said YES!!!

Now we’re getting ready to say ‘I do,’ surrounded by the people who have loved and supported us along the way.
